Description of the Retreat

8 days of Wim Hof Method adventure!

Here you will discover how to gain superior focus and reduce stress, enhance mental and physical performance, boost immune system and increase cold tolerance.

Alladale Wilderness Reserve’s 23,000 acres of rough and challenging landscape, located high up North in the Highlands. Bunkhouse Deanich Lodge will be your accommodation throughout your stay. Deanich is one of the most remote buildings in The Highlands, located 7 miles away from Alladale’s main lodge. Do not expect WIFI or cell-phone coverage here: this is a true off-grid experience.

During these 8 days you will learn the techniques of Wim Hof Method including breathing, meditation and cold exposure and how to apply them in your everyday life.

The retreat will be run by Certified WHM Instructor – Allan Brownlie

What’s in the program:

IrelandUpon arrival, you will join Allan on the 7 mile hike to Deanich. Straight through the dramatic Glen Mor, you will make your way together to what feels like the end of the world. During the week, you will learn:

– How to be the manager of your energy
– How to feel energised and full of life within minutes
– How to boost your body’s alkalinity for super fast recovery
– How to lower your heart rate, banish stress, and feel more relaxed
– How to get rid of physical blockages

• Fundamentals of the Wim Hof Method
• Nature water dips
• Chat explaining the science behind WHM
• Advanced transformational WHM breathing
• Deep focus meditation
• Hiking in shorts

On your last day, as a team, you will hike back to Alladale Lodge, a life experience richer.

Accommodation:
Deanich Lodge, shared rooms with bunk beds and single beds.

Maximum group size:
16 people of reasonable fitness level

Included:
Accommodation, all meals, all activities

Not included:
Flights and transfers

How to get to Alladale:

Nearest Airport is Inverness. We can help arrange for transfers. The drive to Alladale takes about 1 1/2 hours.

Your experience is our priority

Everyone can participate to their own ability and level of comfort. It is all about fun, new experiences and learning. If you have any health conditions or concerns please contact us beforehand.

How to prepare:

If you are new to cold exposure, you can start practicing by finishing your warm shower with 30-60 seconds of cold water only. Begin with your feet and then follow with your legs, your stomach, shoulders, neck and back. Focus on calming down your breath. Don’t put your head under the cold shower, it is better to skip the cold shower on the head for the first month. This way you will become more familiar with the way your body reacts to the cold.
