For over 40 years the property which is now Quiet Waters has been providing a place of rest, renewal and spiritual refreshment to a wide variety of people from far and wide. Set in the quiet Suffolk countryside, just outside Bungay, we are literally a stone’s throw over the River Waveney from Norfolk.

It is an easy 10-15mins walk into the fine market town of Bungay and there are bus services to many places including Beccles, Great Yarmouth and Norwich and we are within easy reach of the coast.

We offer a choice of catering arrangements from bed only to full board, day groups with refreshments and lunch and main house bookings for groups for up to 9 bedrooms. Special dietary needs can be catered for.

Quiet Waters opened in 1984 in a large Georgian house just outside Bungay on the Norfolk/Suffolk border.

We offer retreats for individuals and groups if requested and also a ‘listening ear’ and prayer to those who would like this ministry. As well as offering peace and quiet for the individual, we are also ideal for groups; either for a day or a weekend. We have in the past been used for church away days and by Alpha groups, leadership team meetings, etc.

Accommodation is available for 16 resident guests, but day groups of up to 20 can be accommodated. There are two sitting rooms and a dining room, where guests can enjoy meals prepared from freshly grown fruit and vegetables from the garden when available. Bedrooms are comfortably furnished with wash hand basins in most rooms, and tea/coffee making facilities provided. Two ground floor bedrooms are available with easy access, but there is no provision for personal care. (Further details available on enquiry).

The house has a daily ‘Rhythm of Prayer’ in the chapel at 9.30am, midday, 5.00pm and 7.30pm. If you are in the area and would like to join us for the services you are most welcome. The chapel is available for guests to use throughout the day.

Quiet Waters provides an opportunity for Christians to seek God in a quiet, peaceful and safe environment that allows freedom and space to experience God’s love. The team has a confidential approach to individuals needs and are ready to support guests through prayer, worship, and led retreats or simply by listening.
