Description of the Retreat

May 12-19 Yoga & Qigong
5 Elements PrajnaYoga & Qigong 8 Silken Movements

Qigong is similar to the flow of vinyasa yoga in many ways, but instead of stopping in postures the slow fluid movements, synchronised with a relaxed breath, are continuous, creating a moving meditation, much like Tai Chi but simpler to practice and easier to learn.

Once you have learned by heart the 8 Silken Movements on retreat you can practice this beautiful sequence at home in your garden, a local park or anywhere in nature that draws you.

Your afternoon PrajnaYoga class will focus on the 5 Elements Sequence, a simple and elegant sequence where each of the Ayurveda elements is expressed through a yoga posture, a breath practice or meditation. Once learned by heart you will have the confidence and knowledge to explore this short 20 minute sequence in your free time at home or when you travel. PrajnaYoga developed by Arunji is a slow flow vinyasa style, focusing on exploring the yoga postures with integrity, safety and deep internal sensitivity.

This authentic retreat experience is supported by our master massage therapist, Alison Jones, offering Japanese style Shiatsu and Ayurveda inspired therapeutic massage with aromatic oils. Our resident chef prepares to most fresh and delicious meals possible to satisfy both the stomach and the spirit.

Your teacher, Arunji with 20 years teaching experience, is always available for guidance in spiritual, philosophical or secular matters. Feel free to ask him for a hour of private time to sit or walk and talk about life, the universe and everything.
